Mumbai Indians is most Successful Team in the history of Indian Premier League. MI has won five IPLs titles.
MI used to have strong squad from 2013-2021 where they had likes of Kieron Pollard, Pandya brothers, Trent Boult, Quinton de kock etc. Last season Mumbai Indians finished at bottom of points table. This is first time after 2010, Mumbai will be without Kieron Pollard.
In IPL Auction and via trade, MI have bought Cameroon Green, Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson which is making their bowling lineup stronger. Jofra Archer is also available to play this season.

Rohit Sharma(c)
MI Skipper Rohit Sharma is leading the side by front and has done a brilliant captaincy in last 7–8 seasons. Rohit Sharma was MI’s first retention for IPL 2022. Although, there is decline in Rohit’s Batting performance in last few seasons. Anyways, he has over 5500 IPL runs. In IPL 2023, he failed to score fifty in an entire season.
Ishan Kishan(wk)
Most expensive player in IPL 2022 Auction. MI has invested lot in Ishan Kishan and will be opener with Rohit. He has some big knocks to his name in last few seasons. Ishan is an all-rounder batsman, whom anyone would like to have in the team. He will be keeping wickets for Mumbai Indians.
Suryakumar Yadav
360 degree batsman who is also No 1 T20I batsman, Suryakumar has looked different batsmans since he has started playing for Mumbai Indians. Rohit and management has backed his ability and after 4 years he is not stopping.

Yadav always allows other batsmans to play with freedom. Right now, Yadav is permanent No 4 for India in T20Is.
Tilak Varma
Last season, didn’t well for Mumbai, but he was one of positive. He scored 397 runs at an average of 36.09 and strike rate of 131. If he manages to do well this year as well, he can create chances for playing in team India.
Tim David
Mumbai Indians included Tim David in playing XI in last few matches. David played 2-3 match winning knocks. As Mumbai Indians have released Kieron Pollard, David will play the role of finisher.
Cameroon Green
Most expensive buy ever by Mumbai Indians, Cameroon Green was bought by MI for Rs 17.50 crores. Green will be main all-rounder in Mumbai side. Green can also play as an opener. He is someone who can smash big sixes and bowl at 140 kmph.
Hrithik Shokeen
Hrithik Shokeen will be spinner all-rounder for MI. Last season also he played few matches, but failed to make a mark.
Jofra Archer
Archer missed last season due to injury, but this time he is ready to pair with Jasprit Bumrah and look deadly pair. Archer already has shown in class in IPL. Inclusion of Archer can make Mumbai bowling unit well.
Piyush Chawla
Spin department of Mumbai Indians was very weak last season, this year they have bought Piyush Chawla who is much experienced and has total of 157 IPL wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah
Best bowler of Mumbai Indians and arguably best bowler in world. Injury is a concern for Jasprit Bumrah in recent times. Bumrah doesn’t allow batsmans to go after him. Most probably, Jasprit Bumrah will be captain’s go through bowler who can provide breakthrough at any time.
