Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL. CSK has won IPL four times and for IPL 2023 as well their squad is looking strongest.

Chennai Super Kings won IPL in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 and were finalists in 2008,2012,2013,2015 and 2019 and was banned in 2016 and 2017. 2020 and 2022 were the seasons where they failed to qualify for playoffs.

Success of CSK from last few years was depend upon five-six key players. 4-5 players players of Chennai Super Kings have played for more than 5 seasons.

CSK have released their key bowler Dwayne Bravo before the start of tournament and in IPL Auction 2023 as well they have bought likes of Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson and Ajinkya Rahane. MS Dhoni’s Captaincy and batting has played a major role in CSK’s success. Chennai has changed their captain just once in lifetime.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj was highest run scorer for CSK in IPL 2021

Ruturaj Gaikwad played great role for Chennai in winning the tournament in IPL 2021 and was also highest run-scorer in IPL 2021. Gaikwad in 2021 scored 635 runs in 16 innings and was Orange Cap winner. He has played few matches for team India in limited overs format and his confidence will be up. He is going through purple patch as well.

Devon Conway

Devon Conway played few matches for Csk LAST SEASON

Left-handed Kiwi batsman Devon Conway is sweet timer of the ball. Chennai will like to go with left-right combination at the top. Last season he scored 252 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 145.66

Moeen Ali

Englishman whose game has overall improved a lot since he started playing for Chennai Super Kings. Power-hitter who is unstoppable on his day. With the ball as well he can be match winner on turning tracks and can bowl 2-3 overs daily.

Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes is brilliant addition to CSK squad

One of the finest all-rounders and match winner with the bat and bowl, Chennai bought Ben Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore. He is going to be key player for Chennai in all 3 departments. CSK might use him as opener as well.

Ambati Rayudu

In IPL 2018,Chennai Super Kings used Ambati Rayudu as an opener and he showed his power in IPL 2018. As a result he was selected in Team India after his performance.

In last two seasons, his performance has dipped a bit, but he has looked to play attacking from ball 1.

Shivam Dube is someone who can replace him as well.

Ravindra Jadeja

One of best player for Chennai in last few years, last season was not good for Jadeja, but he has improved lot with the bat and CSK is using him as a finisher. CSK picked him as first retention for IPL 2022. Pair of Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja is looking lethal for all teams.

Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar is opening bowler for Chennai Super Kings and has improved a lot.

MS Dhoni has played great role for developing his standard as a bowler. Deepak provides breakthroughs in start and doesn’t allow batsmans to go after him. CSK bought him in IPL 2022 Auction for Rs 14 Crore.

Chahar is a handy Batsman too in addition to a bowler. He missed last season due to injury.

Maheesh Theekshana

Off-spinner from Sri Lanka who usually bowls in powerplay overs, Theekshana is rising star in international cricket. Last season he played 9 matches for CSK and took 12 wickets.

Mukesh Choudhary

If Chahar was not available last year for CSK, they found other bowler who can swing the ball, Mukesh Choudhary. Mukesh was economical, but managed to took 12 wickets in 9 balls.

Tushar Deshpande

Indian fast bowler played few matches for CSK last season, but he was dropped after few matches. Later, Chennai Super Kings played likes of Mukesh Choudhary and Simarjeet Singh. Most probabaly, he will be in playing 11 if CSK decides to play extra bowler.
