T20 World Cup 2022 will be played in Australia this year and Australia will host T20 WC First Time. Last year T20 World Cup was played in UAE, it was won by Australia.
T20 World Cup is being played after a gap of 1 year. Last year Australia won T20 World Cup for 1st time by defeating Blackcaps in finals. Windies is the most successful team winning T20 WC two times with India, Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka winning one each.
First Match of Super 12 will be played on 22 October 2022 between defending Champions Australia and last year runner-ups New Zealand. This year teams are looking much stronger as compared to last year as some teams were in transition period after retirement of seniors.
It’s quite difficult to predict the winners or top teams this year as all teams have ability to do upset against any team. So, here are contenders for T20 World Cup 2022:-
Australia
Defending Champions will be playing in their home soil. Being one of best ODI and Test side, Australia was criticized for not showing their power in T20 Cricket, but last year they shut down all critics after winning T20 World Cup for first time. They will have home advantage for sure. Their top 6 is most probably going to be same.
In bowling department, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are in fine form. In middle-order Australia may try to bring another player in place of Steve Smith. They are best side looking to win T20 World Cup and become 1st team to win back-to-back titles.

India
Men-in-blue are in search for their 2nd title after ICC World Cup 2007 triumph. T20 World Cup 2021 didn’t went well for India as they were knocked out before semi-finals. Now, with new skipper India is looking much balanced. India have Rohit, Rahul and Virat in top 3. Pant and Pandya are finishers. Bowlers are also looking in brilliant form ahead of T20 World Cup.
India’s bench strength is looking very strong. From last 7-8 years, India plays very dominant cricket in league matches but fails in big matches. Under Rohit’s leadership, India is playing like a champion side. India may able to win title for 2nd time in T20 World Cup 2022.
England
T20 World Champions of 2010 and runner-ups of previous T20 World Cup 2016. England are looking in a trouble since the retirement of skipper Eoin Morgan, but they have World’s best T20 batsmans.
England have Batsmans who play attacking from Ball 1 and fearless Cricket. In batting lineup they have Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow etc. who can destroy any bowling attack in the World. In previous T20 World Cup as well, they won all matches were one-sided.

Bowling is a little-bit concern for England, so arrival of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood can strengthen their bowling as well. Although, England’s strength is batting and they can chase any total.
