New Zealand Best Playing XI for T20 World Cup 2022

Runner-ups of last T20 World Cup. Once again Kiwis will be out to have 1st T20 World Cup Trophy to their name. They have almost same players that was in previous T20 World Cup.

New Zealand is team which can do upset on their day. One of big problem for kiwis team is they play best Cricket through out the tournament, but lose in Semi-final or final. This is the area where Blackcaps need to work on.

Here is New Zealand’s Best Playing XI for T20 World Cup 2022:-

Martin Guptill

Third highest run-scorer in T20Is after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Guptill is New Zealand’s most experienced batsman at the moment. Explosive batsman at the top order, difficult to stop, once is in full flow. Also, he is at No 2 at most number of sixes by a batsman in T20 Cricket.

Devon Conway(wk)

New Zealand’s go to player with in recent days. Devon Conway is very consistent T20 batsman having average of 50+ in T20 Cricket. Conway is someone who keeps scoreboard rotating through the innings. He can be X-factor New Zealand in T20 World Cup 2022.

Kane Williamson(c)

Big match and Big tournament player. Kiwis skipper, Kane Williamson is not in good touch in 2022. His IPL was not too good. His form can create problems for New Zealand, he needs to step up at very first game. Williamson played a remember able innings in last T20 World Cup final against Australia.

Glenn Phillips

Other brilliant and consistent T20 batsman for New Zealand. Phillips is another player who plays according to team’s requirement. Phillips has average of 30 with strike rate of 140.

Daryl Mitchell

In last T20 World Cup, Daryl Mitchell played as opener. He played match-winning knock in semi-final against England. With Devon Conway looking unstoppable at top, it is interesting to see whether he will open or bat in middle-order.

Jimmy Neesham

Batting all-rounder who is also a fast bowler. Jimmy Neesham will be playing as a finisher in New Zealand team. Neesham has ability to change equation of match in few balls with the bat. He will be seen batting, most in slog overs.

Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner is regular part of kiwis team for last 7 years. Very economical bowler, who hardly allows batsmans to score runs freely. Also he is good powerplay bowler. Santner has 78 T20I wickets at an economy of 7. 17.

Tim Southee

Tim Southee is New Zealand’s most experienced fast bowler. Very good bowler in powerplay who makes batsmans struggle through his swing. Southee has 117 T20I wickets, which is highest by a bowler in T20I.

Ish Sodhi

Leg-spin bowler, who on his day can make batsmans impossible to play. Sodhi is capable of making match towards New Zealand’s way on his own.

Trent Boult

Best bowler in the World when it comes to blowing with the new ball. Trent Boult makes very tough for batsmans to face him in powerplay overs. He is New Zealand’s go through bowler whenever they are in need of quick wickets.

Lockie Ferguson

Pace gun or speedster, Lockie Ferguson usually bowls in death and mid-overs. Ferguson is also a wicket-taking choice, but in last few matches he has leaked runs. Wickets are also not in front of his name. Pace-trio of Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson is nightmare for many teams.
