Many Batsmans has ruled the game of Cricket with their bat till today. Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are all time-great batsmans.

In every era, there are some batsmans who rule the batting with their technical batting and consistent performances. So, here is who are Fab 4 Batsmans.

Fab 4 is It is an elite club of four batsmen in modern day cricket. In 1990s, Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Jacques Kallis and Steve Waugh were Fab 4 Batsmans. In 1999s, fab 4 changed to Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid.From last 2–3 years, Fab 4 Batsmans remain lot in discussion and Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root were contenders for Fab 4 Batsmans.But today, due to form and performances, Fab 4 has lot a changed. Many legends and Cricket experts have added David Warner and Rohit Sharma in their Fab 4.So, here is who are Fab 4 Batsmans and who is best among them?

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has scored 7240 runs in 145 innings at an average of 53.63. He has scored 27 Hundreds.Kohli has also scored seven double hundreds in Test. Virat has scored almost in every part of world except New Zealand.

In ODIs, there is no comparison of Virat Kohli as he is highest run-scorer among currently playing cricketers. Virat Kohli has scored 11867 runs in 239 innings at an average of 59.34 with 43 ODI Hundreds.Virat Kohli is known as “Mr. Consistent and Chase Master”. He is consistent lot in ODIs and win many games for India. If chasing 370–380, Virat can win you game easily.

In T20Is as well, he is highest run-scorer with 2794 runs at an average of 50.8 and arguably he is best in T20s.Also he has scored 24 fifties, which is also highest by a batsman.

Steve Smith

Smith has scored 7227 runs at a mighty average of 62.83 which is best after Don Bradman(99.94).He has scored 26 Hundreds. This man is unstoppable in Tests and it is never easy to stop him and take his wicket for bowlers. On an average, Smith plays 100 balls per innings. Smith has scored everywhere in the World.

Smith’s record away from the home is much better as compared to Kohli.

In ODIs, Steve Smith has scored 4162 runs at an average of 42.27 but he is one of the most trusted batsman in Australian side.Whenever, it comes to big or pressure games, he has always delivered with the bat. Smith is the batsman who has scored fifty in every knockout match he played since 2015.

In T20s, his side is never permanent in squad as Australia have better T20 players than Steve Smith. Although, he has 712 runs at an average of 27.38 which is below par as per his standards.

Kane Williamson

New Zealand skipper is very classy, technical and one of the smartest cricketer of the game. He is the man who always leads his team by front. Williamson is the man who can do anything with bat. He builds long partnerships, plays long innings and is one man army for New Zealand.

In Tests, Kane Williamson has scored 6476 runs in 140 innings at an average of 50.99 and have played very key knocks for his side whenever they needed the most.

In ODIs, Kane Williamson has scored 6174 runs in 144 innings at an average of 47.49 and often he remains in top 10 in both ODIs and Tests.

When it comes to T20Is, he is also valuable for New Zealand. Kane has scored 1665 runs at an average of 32.65 and in T20s as well, his approach is to play long and give license to others to fire.Kane is very good player of spin and he has success in asian conditions as well. He is a complete player and brilliant Captain.

New Man in Fab Four in place of Joe Root, who has not able to show his temperament and not playing big innings from long time. He is also not a member of England T20I Cricket Team due to lack of technique.

New Man in Fab 4 is Babar Azam. Pakistan doesn’t have much classy batsmans but Babar Azam has made a image in Pakistan side in all the formats. Babar Azam is consistent and have good batting skills. He has a long way to go. If he able to continue this form, his 10,000 runs in ODIs and Tests are gone nowhere.

Babar Azam has scored 2045 runs in Tests at an average of 45.44. In Tests, he is showing improvement and in his last 6–7 he is promoted in batting order.In ODIs, Babar Azam has scored 3359 runs at an average of 54.18 and currently the best Pakistani ODI Batsman.

Azam was highest run-scorer for Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2019.In T20Is, he has shown a lot of consistency and was №1 ranked Batsman for almost 1–2 years. Azam has scored 1548 T20I runs at an average of 49.94.From, the conclusion Steve Smith is best in Tests and Virat Kohli is best overall as his average of 50+ in all the formats take him to different level.
