In 2007, T20 World Cup Yuvraj Singh was in purple patch and his knock against England and Australia are best knocks in T20Is.India won 2007 T20 World Cup and much credit goes to Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj in league match smashed 6 sixes in Stuart Broad’s over and created history by smashing fastest T20 fifty. Both records haven’t broken yet(most runs in an over in T20Is and fastest fifty).In match against England, Yuvraj Singh scored 58 off 16 balls with 2 fours and 7 sixes. It was like every ball coming off Yuvraj’s bat was going for a six. In next game against Australia Yuvraj started from where he finished in previous game against England.

Yuvraj played similar knock against Australia that too against bowlers like Lee, Bracken, Johnson etc. Yuvraj scored 70 off 30 balls and his this knock got more importance as it was in semis.

However, Yuvraj Singh revealed former Australia wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist expressed his doubts after he slammed 70 off 30 balls in the semifinal clash against the Aussies.

Australian team’s head coach even asked him if he had a fibre attached in his willow and if it is legal. Has the match referee checked it? So I told him to get it checked. Even Gilchrist asked me like who used to make our bats,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by India Today.Yuvraj stated that bat was very special for me and ICC World Cup 2011. His form in 2011 ICC World Cup was tremendous and he played tournament despite cancer and won Man of Tournament.

Two brilliant knocks from Yuvraj Singh was played at much-needed time and India won the first edition of T20 World Cup under MS Dhoni.Yuvraj scored 148 runs in 6 innings at brilliant strike rate of 194 and he was one of the most valuable player for India in the tournament with Gautam Gambhir and RP Singh.
