Pakistan played last T20 World Cup in their home ground(T20 World Cup 2021) where they didn’t lost a single match in group stage. Pakistan won 5 out of 5 matches before they lost to Australia in semi-finals.
Before the start of T20 World Cup, Pakistan have won Tri-series in New Zealand. So, they were high in confidence. However, openers and bowling is strength of Pakistan.

Mohammad Rizwan(wk)
Mohammad Rizwan is among top batsmans in T20 Cricket right now. He along with Babar is backbone of Pakistan’s batting lineup. Pakistan will bank on Rizwan and Babar’s form for their success in T20 World Cup 2022. Rizwan is No 1 in ICC T20 rankings.
Babar Azam(c)
Another batsman like Rizwan, Babar is also in purple patch. Both batsmans try to play till end which is key for Pakistan’s success in T20I. Both will be batsmans to watch out for in T20 World Cup. Azam is at No 3 in T20Is.
Shan Masood
Masood made his T20 comeback after dream run in T20 Cricket in England. Masood has been good so far since his return, but Pakistan will be expecting big knocks from him. He is other consistent batsman in Pakistan side after openers.
Fakhar Zaman
Most dangerous batsman in Pakistan squad. Fakhar Zaman was not part of squad but he is included after Usman Qadir got injured. Fakhar hasn’t got much success in middle-order, but he can be key player.
Pakistan can also include Khudshil Shah in his place.
Iftikhar Ahmed
Iftikhar is playing continuously for Pakistan in last one year. His contribution for Pakistan has got unnoticed. Iftikhar has played fine cameos in middle-order. With the ball he can bowl 2-3 overs in a match.
Asif Ali
Asif Ali is known for hitting big sixes in the end of innings. Who can forget his two match-winning knocks in last T20 World Cup against Afghanistan and New Zealand. He will be playing role of finisher.
Mohammad Nawaz
Left arm bowling all-rounder, Nawaz is X-factor for Pakistan team. With the ball he is taking wickets and with the bat, he has shown his ability as pinch hitter. He is also known for changing the game with the bat.
Shadab Khan
Young but matured and experienced cricketer, Shadab is vice-captain of Pakistan side. Very clever and intelligent spinner, Shadab can make batsmans frustrate to go for big hits. Shadab is wicket-taker bowler for Pakistan.
Haris Rauf
Haris Rauf was playing as lead fast bowler for Pakistan without Shaheen Afridi. His raw pace can give him benefit in Australian conditions. Also, he has experience of playing in Australia. He is expected to bowl most of his overs in end.
Shaheen Afridi
Lead fast bowler for Pakistan, Shaheen is in headlines after destroying Indian top-order in 2021 T20 World Cup. He will be bowler to watchout as well. Shaheen can be deadly in powerplay overs with the ball.
Naseem Shah
Pakistan have played Shahnawaz Dahani, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Wasim Jnr and Mohammad Hasnain in last few series. But Naseem has impressed the most. So, he can be best pick among all.
