Eng vs Ind: India Predicted playing XI for 5th Test

India tour of England will start from July 1 onwards. Series will include 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. ENG vs IND rescheduled 5th Test will also take place during the tour. India are in the lead by 2-1 in series.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the side for India this time and England will be with new skipper Ben Stokes. 5th Test Match will be played in Edgbaston, Birmingham

Rohit Sharma(c)

Rohit Sharma will be leading Indian team in 5th test and he will open the innings. Last year, he has brilliant tour with the bat. Rohit smashed his 1st hundred outside Asia as well in this tour. He would like to continue in test from where he left.

Shubman Gill

Last year, KL Rahul was opening partner with Rohit Sharma. This time KL Rahul is out of squad and also another opener Mayank Agarwal is not available. So, Shubman Gill has higher chance of being second opener. Gill had brilliant Australian tour in 2020-2021.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from Indian Test squad after poor series against South Africa, but now he is selected again because of experience in England soil and he has good outings in County Cricket. Inclusion of Pujara means one of Hanuma Vihari/ Shreyas Iyer will sit out.
